The Hotline was created in 2018 under the name ALLO IJEFA. Supported by AMPLIFYCHANGE in a project where the Hotline was a secondary activity. Without any training on the subject, the Hotline started as a self-taught activity with trial and error and a small telephone without any safety strategy. The more we evolved, the more professional the Hotline became. To cover all the needs of our range, the Hotline uses 3 numbers. Calls are free. Since April 2020, our 3 counsellors have been trained by the MAMA network and continue to receive capacity building in experience sharing meetings organized by the MAMA coordination. Currently Auntie Marthe receives 15 to 20 calls per day.

Auntie Marthe is based in UVIRA, SOUTH KIVU in DRC and covers the provinces of South Kivu, North Kivu, Tanganyika and Maniema. We even receive calls from the border provinces of BUJUMBURA and BUBANZA to BURUNDI and Burundi cases are referred to SOS FED/BURUNDI Centers.
